Poet-for-a-Day
What if your organisation had its very own poet for the day?
Immersing myself in the workplace — observing, listening and reflecting the essence of your particular culture back through POETRY.
Every organisation has its own ethos. Its own community. Made up of unique and wonderful humans — each one contributing something entirely special to the fabric of the place.
Sometimes we can underestimate our particular value and what we bring. My offerings create opportunities for people to feel deeply seen, appreciated, and to open up to themselves, each other, and reconnect with their essential part in the ecosystem.
Part poetry workshop, part creative adventure, part unexpected reflection — and a chance for people to see themselves, their colleagues and their organisation in a whole new way.
What happens?
9.30am — Poetry Workshop | 1 hour
A playful, accessible workshop that gets your people writing, reflecting and connecting.
- Fun “getting to know you” games — seeing your colleagues in a NEW way.
- Quick, fun, accessible prompts that get everyone writing.
- It doesn’t have to be a masterpiece — a few words or a single line can be enough for someone to discover their unique voice. And you’d be amazed at the surprising gems that come out!
- Sharing what we’ve created out loud with the group, in a safe, supportive, no-pressure way.
“the feeling of freedom and beauty poetry unlocked was something else!.” — Kimberly Gillan
10.30am onwards — Poet-in-Residence
Then I’ll spend the day among your group — listening, chatting, observing and absorbing.
I’ll gather the words, stories, moments and all the many little gems that emerge, getting to know your people and what makes this particular group unique.
End of Day — The Poem
I bring everyone back together and perform an original poem created especially for your organisation — my special gift to you.
A poetic reflection of the people and experiences of the day — a rare opportunity for everyone to see themselves mirrored back in a powerful and unexpected way.
“Then it was as if I suddenly saw the secret beauty of their hearts. If only we could see each other that way all the time. I suppose the big problem would be that we would fall down and worship each other.”
– Thomas Merton
